What is Pleasant Valley FIRST?

PVCSD FIRST is any student, mentor, or faculty member who participates in FIRST’s many robotics programs through the school. Robotics is more than just building a robot. Students will learn engineering skills alongside problem solving, teamwork, and media skills for everyday life.

What Can You Participate In?

  • FTC focuses on design, programming, and operating a robot. Teams can grow up to fifteen members from PVCSD students in grades 9-12 for this alliance style competition.

  • FRC focuses on all the same aspects of FTC, but has a few unique other focuses. FRC's unique focuses include fundraising, branding, large scale teamwork skills, and industrial sized robots. Teams can have an unlimited members from grades 9-12 in PVCSD for this alliance style competition.

    Everything That’s Radical” is one of two FTC teams associated with Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, Iowa. Their ultimate goal is to exceed the previous year’s results and make it to the World Championship.

    Deviation From the Norm” is the second FTC team associated with Pleasant Valley High School. This team strives to embody the FIRST Gracious Professional Model while competing for awards and robot performance.

    No Limit” is the only FRC team associated with Pleasant Valley High School. This team focuses on different departments that become experts in each field. They strive to embody FIRST’s Core Values while working on a large team.
